So I had tons of extra page protectors laying around and decided to have a mess free art project! You have no clue how happy those 3 words make me! I cut out flower shapes for each child.
Then had them pick out 2 colors they wanted.
Taped the top closed, and let the kids smush the paint around!
Addison asked for a brush to help her do the smushing.
So did Vivien.
At this point I noticed page protectors are not very flexible, and this would've worked a little better with a large ziploc bag.
I hung them up to dry, but because I used acylic paint I ran across a problem removing the flowers...
Ya...not so pretty, but that wasn't going to ruin my mess free fun. I just traced a smaller flower on the back, and cut it out!
I think they came out cute!
Love this !! We have done similar with ziplocks and poster paints, when we have friends over:)
ReplyDeleteFun idea! I like it.
ReplyDeleteThat's a great idea! I haven't yet ventured into paint territory with my lil ones yet because I fear the mess. They paint at their grandmother's house. This is a project I could actually see us doing! :)
ReplyDeleteVery cute and clean idea. I really like how you fixed your little sticking problem.
ReplyDeleteCreative Fun!
Great idea-think we will give this a go. Paint goes so far sometimes.
ReplyDeleteI love this idea! This would be a great activity for mid-day painting, so I don't have to stick my little guy directly into the bath after! : )
ReplyDeleteSo clever!

good idea to just cut smaller flowers on them. Maybe next time it would be better to use thicker paper or just have the kids cut shapes at the end. Thanks for linking up to my party.
ReplyDeleteI love this idea! Your blog is fantastic. I am always looking for new crafts to do with my son. Found you via Spearmint Baby.

DeleteThis is a great project I love doing in my infant classroom! So much fun with no mess! Using small amounts of different colors gives a tye dye effect without making it one brown mess.
ReplyDeleteBrillant! Thank you so much for this great idea
ReplyDeletelove it, going to do this with the littlies this afternoon, am on the hunt for more mess free stuff now :)
ReplyDeleteI liked the painting idea but I don't think it is a good idea to cut up a child's work. It means you are focusing on the finished product and not the process which was more important,
ReplyDeleteSo what if it did not look pretty, did they have fun? did they see how the colors mixed? were they proud of what they had created?
